Dear Serious Traveler,

With the promising new political changes, space in Myanmar (or Burma as it is more affectionately known) is in great demand in order to accommodate the flood of visitors. We do have confirmed space for Burma for just fifteen world travelers eager to see Burma for the first time or to see the new developments.

Interaction with the Burmese people leads to a free society and we are happy we have continued our tours through the years.

The Splendors of Burma itinerary is rich and rewarding—including not only major sight-seeing highlights, but also fascinating cultural experiences. Special highlights in Myanmar include horse-cart visits to local villages, a puppet show and boat tours on the fascinating waterways of the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) River and Inle Lake. Colorful markets, talented artisans and beautiful natural scenery await us. Isolated from modern influence for decades, each of these destinations offers us an opportunity now to see the Asia of old.

We are also pleased to offer again our North Thailand program. We’ll visit the hill tribes and float down the Mekong River to Chiang Saen. We’ve included it in this brochure because it is sure to appeal to experienced travelers looking for the unusual. Each tour may be taken alone, but they can easily be combined.

We have prepared an interesting study packet for travelers who wish to read more before embarking on these exotic, unforgettable, trips. The warmth and hospitality of the local people will make these journeys memorable. December is an ideal time of the year to visit this area. Join our small group for an experience that is exciting, exotic—and fun!
